You know, it’s crazy what can happen in 21 days of extreme AT HOME fitness and nutrition. As part of the 21 Day Fix Extreme test group, my body changed more in three weeks than it has changed in the past couple of years combined. Even better, I’ve been able to maintain those results, even through the holidays!

Three and a half years ago, I was desperate for a change in my life. God told me that if I would do a better job of taking care of myself, He would take care of the rest. He has … and then some. God is so good to give me more than I deserve! I’ve learned that part of taking care of my family involves taking care of myself. I’ve learned that if I’m going to do big things for HIM, it’s going to require me to be physically equipped to do that.
When I started this journey, I was unhealthy, underweight and frail. So over the past three years, I’ve just been working on being healthy. But eventually, I got to this place where I was settling, I wasn’t pushing or challenging myself. Quite honestly, that fire for my own fitness wasn’t burning too bright. But, after 21 days of pushing myself outside of comfort zone with this program, I can say with 100% confidence that I am strong, healthy and fit … with some muscles and a big smile to go with it!

I lost 1.6 pounds and 6.5 inches. Since my weight stayed almost the same (didn’t have any to lose), and I dropped some serious inches, that means I shaped and shredded my body … #yesplease. My struggle has never been weight loss, but I have struggled with being too thin. This mom of two in her late thirties has abs for the first time in her life. I gained muscle and reshaped my body. My skin is brighter, my hair is healthier and I have a new level of self confidence that I didn’t have before. I learned a lot about nutrition and myself. I have my FIRST before and after picture that I am proud to say is ME. The real me, the best me. The me that is alive and well and full of LIFE
I also learned that I NEED others to help me, guide me, pick me up and cheer me on. As an online fitness coach, I’ve always been the one to host challenges and accountability groups. But for the first time,I got to be in a group as a participant. With 100% certainty, I can tell you that I would have given up without others who were going through the same thing as me. I showed up every single day and gave it all that I had.I’m thankful for every step of this journey, it’s been one baby step in front of the other. I didn’t do this test group so that I could lose weight or be skinnier, because that’s just not part of my story. I promised myself at the beginning of this that I would own MY story throughout this process, the one I’ve been entrusted to let shine for His glory.
The Amber that you see in these pictures below would not recognize the Amber from 3 years ago … so a victory has been won! Thank you to every single person who has been along for the ride with me on this journey, not just throughout this 3 week process, but for the long haul. Life is much sweeter when you surround yourself with friends who encourage you, and push you to be more.
