Vicki is a hard working and beautiful single momma (single moms unite!) from Surprise, Arizona. She has been with Fit Revival for about six months and it has been so fun to get to know her and be a small part of her journey during this time. One of the things that I notice most about her is that the joy of the Lord truly is her strength! Even though Vicki has walked through some hard life experiences, she hasn’t let that stop her from taking care of her and letting God do the rest.
Instead, she has let God show up her life in ways only he can. And even on hard days, she has quickly become a source of encouragement to others in our virtual gym. When I asked her if I could share her story on my blog, she was hesitant because she wasn’t comfortable sharing before and after pictures. And the truth of all of that is, our biggest before and after is the work God does in our hearts. The workouts and healthy eating habits are a side effect of that. Vicki is the best example of this and no way would I miss sharing her story with you!
Here is what she shared with me …
What have been your specific wins in the last 30 days?
I don’t have a huge physical transformation story, I have been active all my life. I do fluctuate a little but besides being prego, I’ve been about the same weight for the past 12 years. Maintaining is still not easy and I want to tone a bit more, so I keep at it with finding workout programs that work for me. I have learned that this comes with dedication and friends who like to workout and go hiking. Otherwise, it was and is hard to do this on my own.
What is the biggest thing you have learned about yourself? How have you partnered with God in this process?
My biggest transformation is my faith. Life sometimes doesnt go as planned, sometimes it does. But wherever I go, how I succeed … my faith will always get me to where I’m supposed to be. My ever changing transition of myself, my life, parenting, my son, work, etc. Stepping stones to the success God is creating in me, and in those around me. It’s not always easy, if it was, I am not sure I’d feel the grace I feel today. God is good, God is good all of the time. Wherever my path goes, I trust him, his plan for the success and ever so present peace and joy!!
