As part of the recent of 21 Day Fix Extreme test group, we were asked to choose from two different eating plans: Extreme or Countdown to Competition. I am an all or nothin’ kind of girl, so I chose Countdown to Competition. I wanted to push myself, both physically and mentally. And truly, so much of staying committed to this style of eating is all about mindset. I wanted to see what I could do in a short amount of time, nutrition was my ticket.
And as a sidenote, I believe that your nutrition is 100% of the equation. Not 70%, not 80%. What you eat affects everything you do and allows your body to either work for you or against you.
Now, I am no figure competitor … so moms, it’s okay. This program is for you, too. I’m a mom of two boys. I’m involved in their sports. We go to church. I run a thriving business from our home. You can nail a competition prep with this program and look like a competitor without actually having to strut your stuff on a stage … but hey, having gone through a competition prep, I wouldn’t blame you if the stage calls your name!
Here’s another confession, I don’t really like to cook (I know, gasp!). Shhhhh, don’t tell! I prefer to keep my food simple, which seems boring to some. I’m a creature of habit and I like what I like, ha! It works for me and I make adjustments for my family. For these reasons, the Countdown to Competition plan was very doable, I just had to be on my meal planning A-game.
Throughout the test group process, I learned a lot about nutrition and meal prepping in general. And since I’m not a big cook, I made this quick video to show you an example of how EASY it is to prep all of your meals ahead of time. So quick and simple!
