YES, you are my sister. If you are reading this, you are my beautiful, courageous, sister in Christ. My heart’s desire is to tell you that you are breathtakingly beautiful. No matter what happens in your day today, that doesn’t change. Take a look in the mirror at God’s handiwork and know that you were created to be imperfectly perfect.
Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Do you know that full well? Do you know that you are beautiful in this moment? Maybe you haven’t heard that yet today. Maybe you haven’t ever heard that. Or maybe you hear it often, but you don’t believe it. Whatever the case may be, take it to heart and know full well that our Creator does not make mistakes.
To be healthy isn’t about trying to be more beautiful. So if the reason we choose to be healthy is not so that we can be more beautiful, then what is it?
We choose to live healthy so that we can be well equipped to live out our calling in this life, to be present in our mission field, whatever that might be. What dreams has the Lord planted in your heart? Where do you feel called? Your mission field might be in your home, on your block, in your job or in your school. My mission field is in my home, but it’s also you … the sister reading this blog. My mission field is you. In order to do big things for God, you have to stand strong and stay firm. If we are weak physically, I believe that hinders our ability to serve others and do what God has called us to do.
When you view getting healthy from a kingdom perspective, everything changes.
How you choose to get healthy is important, but usually not as important as WHY. Your WHY will drive HOW you define healthy and the actions you take to get there. When you start making better choices and aligning those decisions with what you know God is calling you to do, you don’t get sidetracked when the number on the scale doesn’t align with your desires.
So can we stand on that promise together? To know FULL WELL that we are already beautiful, especially to the one that makes every breath possible and created us in His own image? He wants to equip you to live out your kingdom destiny. I believe that you have to take action and take care of yourself so that God can do what only He can through you. Focus on Him as your reason, stop obsessing over the details, take that baby step forward and watch God do His thing.
