Here are the next two verses from Proverbs 31:
“Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” Seems pretty straightforward, doesn’t it?
Out of curiousity, I looked up the King James Version of these verses and thought it was helpful in clarifying the intention of the passage. “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
Definitions for clarification:
Enrich: to supply with riches, wealth, abundant or valuable possessions; to add greater value or significance to
Spoil: (used as a noun) booty, loot, or plunder taken in war or robbery
I have some reflections already, but I will save them until I have dedicated some time to pray and listen to what God has to say about what these verses mean and how they can be applied in my life. I think it’s easy to jump to conclusions immediately after reading something! I am enjoying taking the time to digest each little piece without worry that I am not “covering enough ground”. So stay tuned, and please feel free to comment along the way!
