Lift Heavy, Eat Tacos

Ahhhhhh …. y’all. October is gonna be EPIC. I’ve been busy putting a workout plan together for my VIP virtual bootcamp, but I HAD to drop everything and share with you what we are doing in The Fit Sister Project next week (hint: join us!).

This month’s theme: Lift Heavy – Eat Tacos

We are going to tac-o ’bout letting God do the heavy lifting while we eat taco inspired meals all week – because Tuesday shouldn’t be the ONLY day that tacos are cool. Right? I’m a Texas girl after all. Tacos, weights and Jesus – not in that order of course, are essential to life, y’all!

So let’s start with this meal plan. You’ll notice I eat a lot of the same things. Don’t worry, I’ll change it up completely in the following week, but this keeps the grocery budget down and makes sure we don’t have a ton of waste at the end of the week.

And then … we meal prep. Your workout is actually the easiest part. If you leave out the nutrition and don’t fully commit to eating in a way that fuels your body, you’ll end up so frustrated and wondering why you can’t break through a plateau. I work with A LOT of women and I see it all.the.time!

Each day in the group, we’ll have a new scripture to think about — but our POWER VERSE for this month is Matthew 11:30, “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

The word yoke is usually associated with becoming attached to something. What things, people or situations do we attach ourselves to that weigh us down from living out our God given potential?  This has been a big question for me lately. Sometimes there are hard things that happen, that we feel attached to, but we can’t avoid. I certainly don’t have all of the answers, but I do know that when we attach ourselves to God, we can walk in complete freedom, even when we have to do things that are hard or uncomfortable.

Our burden is light when we take care of ourselves and let God do the rest. Unclinch those fists and give it all back to him. It’s yours, Lord. All of it. Basically, we’re required to do our part, to take action and not be passive, and let Him do the rest. Sounds easy, right? That’s a daily surrender for me, sister. But it’s also been the greatest adventure of my life!

If you’ve read this far and you’re not part of The Fit Sister Project, why NOT? We’ll be diving into all of this in more detail, so don’t miss out! I’m on a mission to help as many women as possible live out THEIR God-given potential and we’d love to have you. It all starts with learning to love YOU so that you can pour out on and love OTHERS. Join the movement!
